The Riviera Nayarit to host the 1st Pacific Golf Tour
- This amateur golf tournament will be held in Mexico for the first time on November 28, 2020, seeking to become the most important of its kind in the Mexican Pacific.
The Riviera Nayarit will host the first edition of the Pacific Golf Tour, an amateur tournament that will be held on November 28, 2020 at Flamingos Golf. This tournament will represent the classifying round for next year’s competition.
“The Pacific Golf Tour merges tourism and sports competition plus camaraderie in the different categories,” said Event Director Fernando Iturribarría. “With this event everyone from locals and temporary residents to visitors will not only enjoy great golf, but also our fine weather, gastronomy, excellent beaches, and the tourist attractions offered by the Riviera Nayarit,” he added.
Mexico’s Pacific Treasure has always stood out as an important destination for golf lovers, thanks to its eight world-class courses designed by some of the best-known names in the business: Jack Nicklaus, Robert Von Hagge, Jim Lipe, Percy Clifford, and Greg Norman. The Riviera Nayarit is today one of the top golf destinations in Mexico.

Flamingos Golf course is a par 72 with a distance of 6,853 yards and slightly narrow fairways laid out along gentle hills. Designed by Percy Clifford, this course takes full advantage of its natural attributes, with a location among lagoons and mangroves. It was the Riviera Nayarit’s first golf course and has earned its place as the cornerstone of the Nuevo Vallarta Tourist development.
The tournament is a stroke play in three categories with an 80% handicap. The main attraction for participants is not only the trophy, but also a place in the Pacific Golf Tour held in February of next year in Manzanillo, Colima.
Among the hole-in-one prizes: a 2020 KIA Seltos, a two-night stay at Casa Roka (an impressive home located in the exclusive Punta Mita residential community designed by renowned architect Manolo Mestre), and a 2020 Harley-Davidson Street 750, as well as O’Yes cash prizes.
