Riviera Nayarit will reach Bolivia via Booking and Copa Airlines

  • A group of Bolivian travel agents visited Mexico’s Pacific Treasure on April 21-23 to experience firsthand its natural attractions and hotel infrastructure so they can promote the destination in the South American market.

The luxury and natural attractions of the Riviera Nayarit caught the attention of travel services company Bolivia Booking, which by its own initiative organized a FAM trip to this destination with eight travel agents and Copa Airlines División Vacations.
The group from the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra had the opportunity to experience firsthand the destination’s tourism product and its natural beauty—the beaches, mountains, and coastal villages—so they could familiarize themselves with everything before returning to their country and marketing the Copa flight.

The travel agents toured the Palladium hotel.

The travel agents were in the destination from April 21-23, visiting San Francisco (better known as San Pancho), as well as the beach at Sayulita Pueblo Mágico. Later they toured the area of Litibú, where they went on a site inspection of the Iberostar Playa Mita hotel, followed by a visit to the Costa Banderas area and Nuevo Vallarta where they toured the Palladium and Hard Rock Vallarta hotels, respectively. They also went on a horseback tour through some areas of the Sierra de Vallejo, decreed a Protected Natural Area and Jaguar Sanctuary.
Of note is the fact this is the first FAM trip from this South American country in Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta’s history of tourism and is part of the destinations’ Joint Promotional Plan. This will place the destinations squarely in the sights of the Bolivian consumer and other countries where Copa Airlines has direct connectivity.

The agents who participated in this fam trip work with agencies Virutravel, Dinámica Turismo, Via Contours, Zurich, Santa Fe Viajes, Travel Oriente, Mare Travel, and VTG Online, coordinated by Bolivia Booking’s Patricia Camacho and Copa Airlines’ Roxana Chavarría.
“The support of Copa Airlines has opened the door to new markets that now have eyes on our destination thanks to our great business relationship with the airline,” said Marc Murphy, managing director for the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB). “Markets such as Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Ecuador already have us on their radar and are intensively promoting the Panama-PVR/Riviera Nayarit route.”
