Triple FAM Trip: Brazil, Colombia And Canada

  • The Riviera Nayarit organized this FAM trip to take place during the XX International Gourmet Festival and the resulting PR activity is expected to generate over a million impressions.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) decided to take advantage of the 20th anniversary of the International Gourmet Festival and invited writers from several countries to partake in a FAM trip during the event.

Journalists from Brazil, Colombia and Canada all specializing in media covering gastronomy, luxury and tourism had the opportunity to enjoy the festival, which took place in The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort under the title “Flavors of Punta Mita.”

“The Flavors of Punta Mita was a grand celebration that brought those of us who make up the destination of Punta Mita (hotels, developer, restaurants, chefs, providers, residents, guests and contributors) together for a common cause: namely, to kick off the new season,” mentioned Carl Emberson, General Manager of the St. Regis.

Three of Brazil’s top media were present. Elite Magazine has been around for 22 years and has a distribution in the United States and Europe, reaching some 180 thousand readers. Its website has over 480 thousand unique monthly visits.

Brazilian magazines Mensch and Prazeres Da Mesa together reach over 250 thousand readers. Colombia participated with Casa Viva Cocina and Revista Gastronomía, which together reach about 100 thousand readers; this is a very precise segment for specialized foodies.

Freelance journalist Alison Kent was on hand representing Canada. She writes for The Star, Travel Mind Set and Kitchen Daily.

Besides their participation in the festival, the journalists also visited other communities in the Riviera Nayarit for additional content and inspiration to publish more articles in their respective media.

Through these public relations endeavors the Riviera Nayarit CVB ensures that pertinent information reaches the captive, emerging and potential markets and continues to promote the destination for the benefit of the region at large.
