Fernando Stalla, the Riviera Nayarit’s Surf Ambassador, joins the ranks of Exatlón México, the reality show format high-performance sports competition that airs on TV Azteca. Stalla’s name was announced on Saturday, August 7, in an exclusive preview on the competition’s official Instagram account.

Exatlón México recruited SUP’s pioneer in Mexico—who’s currently ranked among the top 10 worldwide—for its fifth edition titled “Guardians vs. Conquerors 2021-2022.” He will be part of the blue team, the “Conquerors.”

As the Riviera Nayarit’s Ambassador, Stalla has participated in important national and international competitions where he has won several awards and recognitions. He is the National SUP Surfing Champion (a title he has won eight times). He is also an expert in Prone Racing, SUP Racing and was twice the winner of World SUP Racing. In 2012, the Mexican Surfing Federation named him Surfer of the Year.

Of note is his participation within the Mexican Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) Team in the ISA (International Surfing Association) Fiji 2016 SUP & Paddleboard World Championship and Sayulita’s 2015 Stand Up Paddle World Championship. This event had the support and sponsorship of the CVB of Riviera Nayarit.

“We’re proud to be part of Fernando Stalla’s extraordinary journey. He is our SUP ambassador and a pioneer in this sport in Mexico and our tourist destination. We wish him all the success in the world in this new challenge,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit CVB.

Stalla will bring his passion for surfing to Exatlón México, and it will be an excellent way for new generations to learn more about the sport. He will be representing Sayulita and the Sayulita Surf Club, of which he is a founding member.

TAKE NOTE:

Fernando Stalla’s participation in Exatlón México begins on Monday, August 16, 2021, on Azteca Uno.
