10 Luxury Brands That Make The Riviera Nayarit Shine
The Riviera Nayarit is, by its very nature, a luxury destination. Now that it’s celebrating its first 10 years of history, we’d like to share a list of the 10 Luxury Brands that have helped support its upscale reputation.
But before we start, we’d like to mention there are even more luxury developments under construction in the destination including La Mandarina and Costa Canuva, not to mention multiple renovations and upgrades other properties are undergoing to keep up the standards.
Virtuoso
The Riviera Nayarit is a Virtuoso destination and there are currently four hotels associated with this brand: Imanta Resorts Punta de Mita, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort.
AAA Diamonds
The requirements are very tough in order to receive the Diamond Awards bestowed by the American Automobile Association (AAA) and several Riviera Nayarit hotels have been able to comply with these high levels of luxury standards. The top distinction is, of course, the 5 Diamond award, received by Grand Luxxe Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort along with its restaurant, Carolina. There are an additional 11 properties and six hotels that have received the 4 Diamond award.
Relais & Châteaux
Imanta Resorts Punta de Mita is a unique hotel in the Riviera Nayarit, and one of its top distinctions is its membership in the Relais & Châteaux group, a consortium with a portfolio of about 500 hotels worldwide.
Ensemble Travel Group
Once again, the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort hold the destination’s name up high, as they are the only ones tapped to belong to the Ensemble Travel Group, comprised of the best travel agents in the world who sell the best hotels on the planet.
Signature Hotels & Resorts
Another exclusive firm that supports luxury in the Riviera Nayarit is the Signature Travel Network. Among the 30 Mexico hotels in the list, three are in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure: Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and W Punta de Mita.
The Leadings Hotels of the World
This grand consortium represents over 430 luxury properties in over 80 countries; the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is the only one in the destination that’s a part of it. In all of Mexico there are only eight hotels that belong to The Leading Hotels of the World.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts
There are only a little more than 600 hotels in 85 countries with the distinction of belonging to this group. To date, the Hotel Villa La Estancia in Flamingos is the only one who can boast this membership.
Mexico Boutique Hotels
Sometimes luxury comes in small, beautifully wrapped packages, as is the case with the properties that make up the Mexico Boutique Hotels group. There are two in the Riviera Nayarit: Hotel Cielo Rojo in San Pancho and Hotel Playa Escondida in Sayulita.
Forbes
This magazine, which began in the United States but has achieved worldwide recognition, specializes in business and finance and is without a doubt a purveyor of luxury. In 2015 the Four Seasons Punta Mita was catalogued by the publication as the most surprising luxury hotel in Mexico. The Forbes Travel Guide also gave the Four Seasons five stars, while The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort has four. Their most recent publication was the “Top 12 Destinations of 2017,” which included the Riviera Nayarit.
Travvy Awards
The Riviera Nayarit was named “Best Luxury Destination, Mexico” during the Travvy Awards in January 2016. This recognition was awarded per a poll completed by travel agents belonging to travAlliance Partners.
