The Riviera Nayarit brought its promotional tour to northern Mexico
- The Tourist Promotion Tour headed to Monterrey, Nuevo León, and Tijuana, Baja California, where they trained 150 travel agents and meeting and wedding planners.
On March 23, 24, and 25, the Riviera Nayarit CVB held a series of promotional events in Tijuana, Baja California, and Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, both cities in Mexico’s northern region. The team contacted 150 tourism professionals, including leisure and luxury travel agents and meeting and wedding planners.
The journey began in Tijuana, one of the most important cities in Baja California, right on the border with the United States. Given the excellent air connectivity this city has with the Riviera Nayarit, the team held a breakfast presentation for 40 travel agents. Hoteliers and representatives of Record Vacation, Euromundo Wholesalers, Volaris, and Viva Aerobús Airlines presented their tourism products to the attendees in a workshop.
Excellent promotion
After a day in Tijuana, the promotional tour moved on to Monterrey, where they held a dinner presentation for 35 meeting and wedding planners. The hotel industry made the most of the opportunity to showcase its tourism product for these two crucial segments that generate excellent occupancy.
The land of the roasted cabrito also hosted a presentation for 40 leisure segment travel agents with the participation of several Riviera Nayarit hotels, wholesaler Azabache Tour, and Volaris Airline. Together with Viva Aerobús, Volaris offers direct flights to our tourist destination.
The following hotels participated in these three activities: Occidental Nuevo Vallarta, Hard Rock Vallarta, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Marival Group, Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta, Decameron Hotels, Riu Hotels, Grand Palladium Vallarta, W Punta de Mita, The St. Regis Punta Mita, and Conrad Punta de Mita. In the evening, the team hosted an exclusive cocktail presentation for 35 luxury travel agents; the destination’s highest category hotels participated in this particular event.
It is worth mentioning that Monterrey has become a significant point of reference in the high-end tourism market for Mexico’s Pacific Treasure. The hotels mentioned above generally report excellent guest occupancy from that city and its surroundings, including Mexico’s wealthiest municipalities, such as San Nicolás de los Garza and San Pedro Garza-García, located in a large industrial corridor that is the third most populated metropolitan area in the country.
Luxury market
The events held in Monterrey were attended by the leading Virtuoso and Tailor Made travel agencies in the area, including Viajes Legrand, Vintermex, BCD Travel, Viajes Palacio, Mundana, Ferrara Viajes, Nuba México, Pérez Maldonado, Andrea Lomelí, Hello Tours, and Villa Tours.
Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Convention Bureau (CVB), hosted this select group of agents that included the owners of some of these companies, including Viajes Legrand, Pérez Maldonado, and Mundana.
“We want to strengthen the presence of domestic tourism this winter, and we will do so by focusing on the luxury segment. This is why we’re showcasing all the latest developments in our destination during this promotional tour. We’re bringing a taste of the experience of vacationing with us to tourism professionals in this significant market,” he said.
With this, the Riviera Nayarit CVB reaffirms its commitment to creating new alternatives for positioning the destination in markets that have demonstrated their importance for developing tourism, while consolidating strategies to attract tourists to the entire state of Nayarit.
The Riviera Nayarit is a safe destination. Our hotels, restaurants, and tourist establishments follow all the health protocols established by the Federal Government’s Ministry of Health and operate at the allowed capacities. Access to the beaches is limited. Be a responsible tourist: wear your mask and keep your distance.
We’re ready!
