The Riviera Nayarit impacts over 600 travel agents affiliated with Apple Vacations

  • The destination took advantage of the wholesaler’s events in Illinois and Missouri to pique travelers’ interest with an eye on the upcoming Fall/Winter season.

The Riviera Nayarit concluded a week of promotions in the midwestern states with excellent results. The destination participated in Apple Vacations’ traditional tradeshows where representatives presented the area’s tourist offer to local travel agents and wholesalers.

This activity was part of the joint strategy and promotions calendar implemented together with Puerto Vallarta, which helped boost interest among travelers to the region for the upcoming Fall/Winter season.

The first event took place in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, where representatives from the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust (Fidetur) set up a booth and presented their latest offerings to over 300 agents. The next day, the booth was set up at the St. Charles, Missouri trade show, where the team welcomed another 300 travel professionals.
Participating hotels included Villa del Palmar Flamingos and Villa La Estancia; Riu; Marival; Iberostar Playa Mita; and Grand Palladium; these form part of the top four hotel chains in the Bahía de Banderas region.
The events were followed by a seminar for 45 travel agents in Kansas City giving updates on the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta. Representatives from wholesalers American Airlines Vacations and Vacation Express also participated in this event, along with sales executives from the Grand Velas, Paradise Village, Villa del Palmar Flamingos, and Villa La Estancia hotels.
The travel agents were very pleased to receive information from the both the destinations and the participating hotels: the extreme winter weather makes it their highest grossing season.
