The Riviera Nayarit, Mexican travelers’ favorite beach destination

  • According to Price Travel, 70% of domestic tourists prefer to vacation on the beach, with Mexico’s Pacific Treasure being one of the most in-demand tourist destinations in the country.

The Riviera Nayarit is among the top three beach destinations preferred by Mexican tourists. This, according to OTA Price Travel Holding, one of the most important tourist companies in Mexico and Latin America.

When analyzing travelers’ consumer habits, Price Travel indicated that according to search and booking trends, 70% of its clients show a marked preference for beach destinations. And within that, the three most searched destinations were Cancun, Riviera Maya, and the Riviera Nayarit.

Likewise, the Mexico’s Pacific Treasure was one of the few destinations that maintained its average daily rate of $4,323 pesos, and as a result, came in second among Price Travel’s top revenue generators for Mexico; the first was Cancun and the third the Riviera Maya.

Health protocols were key for reservations

Of note is the fact that, according to the agency, when travelers book hotels, they choose those that have received the biosafety approvals for COVID-19 and, in addition, have their own established health protocols. To this end, all of these hotels are identified on the agency’s sales platforms with a special distinctive mark.

Another determining factor for travelers in choosing a destination is how flexible hotels are in providing free rescheduling and cancellations, which is why Price Travel works closely with suppliers to ensure that its clients have these guarantees.

A safe and healthy destination

The Riviera Nayarit is not only trending for its beaches and the quality of its services. In addition to its usual quality, the hotels in this tourist destination welcome their guests with the most advanced safety and hygiene protocols; it is no coincidence that last year it received the Safe Travel Stamp, awarded by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) to destinations that comply with the highest measures in terms of hygiene and sterilization to protect travelers’ health in the New Normal.

These defined protocols signify the highest standard in health and hygiene, which provides confidence and peace of mind to travelers,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Convention Bureau (CVB).
