The Riviera Nayarit helps tackle COVID-19: Your life matters!

  • To help prevent the spread of the
coronavirus, the president of the CVB and the AHMBB distributed 500 masks to
State and Municipal police and transit officers, transportation unions, and the
    management of the IMSS.

The
Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit
Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), headed by their president, Jesús Carmona
Jiménez, handed out 500 masks on Tuesday to members of the Nayarit State
Police, the Banderas Bay Municipal Police, and the Municipal and State police
officers who man the Nuevo Vallarta and Sayulita health perimeters, as well as
to leaders of the van and ATM truck drivers syndicates, and the IMSS Medical
Unit located in Mezcales.

This
is part of Riviera Nayarit’s “Your Life Matters” preventive care campaign, one
of the strategies the destination has put into action in light of the COVID-19
crisis that’s aimed at preventing the spread of the virus and helping raise
awareness about the importance of proper health care.

During
a simple act that took place in the safety macro-module in Jarretaderas, the
president of the Riviera Nayarit Associated Hotels handed the masks to
representatives of the aforementioned entities, to whom he informed they will
periodically receive a similar amount for the duration of the health crisis.

The
masks are made of elastane so they can be washed and reused and have the phrase
“Your life matters to us” stamped on the front. Of note is the fact they will
also be distributed to people who are in vulnerable places or who have to leave
their homes due to work and be in constant contact with people. Also, 200 face
shields will soon be ready and will be distributed mainly to medical staff in
hospitals.

In
his message, Jesús Carmona Jiménez thanked the police force for their work and
called for support rather than criticism, as their work benefits the people of
Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta.

In
addition, he reiterated the importance of staying at home, emphasizing this was
the best way to prevent contagion and make our way out of what has affected us
so much.

During
the symbolic act, the organizations were represented by the following people:

State Transit. Commander
Juan Manuel Deras Maldonado, in charge of the Banderas Bay Ministry of Transportation.
Municipal Transit. Pedro
Baños, Subdirector of Municipal Roads and Transit.
Medina CTM-Auto Transport Syndicate. Alfredo
Nolasco, delegate; and Ricardo Rojas, Head of ATM Services.
ACASPEN. Juan José
Juan Valdivia Villa, Managing Secretary.
State Tourist Police. Eric
Rolando Romero Osuna, representative.

Remember,
Mexico’s Pacific Treasure will be here when the COVID-19 health crisis is over.
Meanwhile: #StayHomeWithRivieraNayarit
