Riviera Nayarit Hotels: Active and united against COVID-19

  • Partner hotels have displayed
solidarity and empathy when faced with the coronavirus health crisis.

The
hotels of the Riviera Nayarit have been active and united against COVID-19,
maintaining their commitment and social responsibility not only with their
employees, but also with the community.

Since
the Federal Government announced the start of the health emergency in March of
this year, the hotel guild has displayed ongoing solidarity and empathy,
underscoring the already legendary hospitality of this tourist destination.

With
this objective, the guild has launched several initiatives to overcome this
situation as soon as possible—some have offered provisions to hospitals and
community kitchens, while others have provided perishable food items to the
police and the authorities manning the health perimeters, without neglecting
their responsibility and solidarity towards their employees.

The
President of the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB), Jesús
Carmona Jiménez—also Operations Director of the Vallarta Gardens
development—highlighted this effort, urging the destination’s hotel chains to
join these initiatives and asking the community in general to follow the
guidelines given by the Federal and State Governments.

“Many
people have stayed at home and are complying with the social distancing
measures, which is why hoteliers—who understand all the implications—are
supporting these people in different ways and by different means. In
particular, they are in solidarity with their staff, making sure the effects of
what’s happening today are causing the least impact possible.”

In
addition, the president of the hotel association reiterated the importance of
staying at home, emphasizing that this is the best way to prevent contagion and
to emerge from this together.

Below
we’ve shared the work being done by the Riviera Nayarit hotels during this
health emergency:

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita: Donated sheets and towels to the IMSS Clinic 19 in Mezcales.

Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit: Donated supplies to the San José community Dining Hall, providing food daily to people who have lost their jobs in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas.

Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta: Delivered 300
grocery bags to its most vulnerable staff members.

Marival Group – Marival Resorts: Delivered more than 180 grocery bags to staff members in vulnerable situations; delivered consumables to different security and hospitality institutions; and established the Marival Help Line to offer orientation and permanent support to its staff and anyone who requests it via telephone, WhatsApp, and email.

Paradise Village. All vulnerable people sheltering in place are on paid leave. They will all keep their jobs; the company will also support the personnel who depend on tips to help compensate for the current lack of clients. The Paradise Village Foundation, together with the Riviera Nayarit Coparmex Delegation, donated safety equipment to the Puerto Vallarta Regional Hospital.

Samba Vallarta: Food delivered to hotel
employees.

Vallarta Gardens: Delivered pantry
items to vulnerable staff every month; this will continue monthly beginning in
April through July 2020.

Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta: Delivered more
than 4,000 grocery bags every 15 days to vulnerable employees.

Villa Group. Villa
del Palmar Flamingos and Villa La Estancia continue to employ approximately 90%
of their workforce. Major remodeling and maintenance work are ongoing: A
Maintenance and Public Areas team is working on deep cleaning and preventative
maintenance in both properties. The Group provides daily meals for the 12
Nayarit State Police officers assigned to the Nuevo Vallarta and Sayulita
health perimeters.

So
far, major construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects have not stopped.
There is a group of workers living on-site in the hotel to provide maintenance
and care of the facilities, with all expenses paid as well as an extra bonus,
in addition to which the hotel is providing support to tenants or lessees by
waiving their rent payments for two months.

Finally,
it’s worth mentioning the hotels that have lent their support to the people
manning the health filters that were set up in Jarretaderas and Sayulita by
providing bottled water, coffee, protein bars, electrolytes, and food: Real del
Mar Condomium; Villagroup Hotels; Riu Resorts; Paradise Village; Marival Group;
Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta; Las Palomas Nuevo Vallarta; Grand Velas Riviera
Nayarit; Occidental Nuevo Vallarta; Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita; Vallarta
Gardens; Grand Palladium; and Samba Nuevo Vallarta.
Remember,
Mexico’s Pacific Treasure will be here when the COVID-19 health crisis is over.
