Ecuadorians focus on the Riviera Nayarit

  • Mexico’s Pacific Treasure promoted the destination with Golden Vacations in Quito, Cuenca, and Guayaquil.

The Riviera Nayarit’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB), and Puerto Vallarta’s Fidetur continue to reinforce their tourism marketing in South America.

On this occasion the promotional tour—invited by Golden Vacations—traveled to Ecuador to visit Quito, Guayaquil, and Cuenca, where they contacted approximately 250 top-producing travel agents who work with this premier tourism wholesaler. The agents were treated to the latest information on the destination’s updates, offers, and promotions.

Participating hotel chains included AM Resorts and Marival Group—on behalf of the Riviera Nayarit—, as well as Puerto Vallarta’s Sheraton Buganvilias and tour operator Traffic DMC. Copa Airlines and Aeroméxico were also present.

The event’s main objective was to gather the retailers under one roof for them to learn more about the vacation destination they will eventually sell to their clients.

Representatives from the Riviera Nayarit CVB and Puerto Vallarta’s Fidetur met with some 250 travel agents. 

Before each seminar, representatives from the CVB and Fidetur held presentations on the destination with 17 agencies and wholesalers, convened by Aeroméxico’s Quito office. The airline executives also promoted the Quito-Mexico City (with connection in PVR) flight and announced the upcoming Guayaquil-Mexico City flight, with three weekly frequencies (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) starting on May 1, 2019.

Afterwards, the team held breakfast seminars for 50 travel agents in Cuenca, the third most important city in Ecuador; 100 agents in Quito; and, finally, 80 agents in Guayaquil.
Ecuadorians travel abroad connecting from Cuenca on Copa Airlines (via Panama) and on Aeroméxico (via Quito); starting in May they can travel through Mexico City (via Guayaquil).

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) continue to strengthen the promotion of the destination, helping to position it on the international map with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit via the Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
