4th Riviera Nayarit Children’s Fishing Tournament Is All About The Kids

  • The event takes place on Sunday, April 29 at 8 a.m. at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle; the event is free for kids 3 to 12 years of age.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) together with the Bahía de Banderas Fishing Club extend an open invitation to the third edition of the Riviera Nayarit Children’s Fishing Tournament in honor of Children’s Day on April 29, 2018.

The event will once again be hosted at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, where they will welcome kids ages 3 to 12 at 8 a.m. sharp to learn the techniques associated with sport fishing.

The organizers have prepared a fun program including sports and recreational activities in a 100% family-oriented ambiance.

The kids will compete under the guidance of the members of the Bahía de Banderas Fishing Club, learning not only fishing techniques but also about the environmental awareness surrounding the event, as all catches will be released back into the ocean.

“This way the children are taught respect; they learn they can fish while also being aware of the conservation of the species,” said David Zaragoza Camacho, President of the Club. “We want to encourage a family atmosphere while promoting the sport of fishing, but in an eco-friendly manner.”

The details
This year they are expecting 500 children, which is the limit in number of participants. There is only one category for kids ages 3 – 12.

Thanks to the supporting sponsors the participants will receive an event t-shirt, fishing gear, snacks, refreshing beverages, toys, and candy, as well as great prizes for all those who register a catch.

Registration is free; the only requisite is for the child to be accompanied by an adult.
