The Riviera Nayarit And Puerto Vallarta Train Mexico City Agents
- Mexico City is the third city of origin in volume of national tourists to the Riviera Nayarit: 11.5% of the visitors to the Destination in 2015 were from the nation’s capital.
From February 8-12, 2016, Mexico City was the site of different promotional activities in order to update the city’s travel agents with the latest info to enable them to better promote the destinations.
The promotion and sales departments of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVB) and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust (Fidetur) have trained 370 travel agents with the objective of strengthening sales in this region for the upcoming vacation season in Mexico.
Mexico City is the third city of origin in volume of national tourists to the Riviera Nayarit. This is confirmed by the statistics arising from the Visitor Profile surveys performed by the Riviera Nayarit CVB, which found 11.5% of the visitors from the interior of the Republic to the destination came from the capital.
The number of tourists from this region has been steadily increasing over the past few years. In 2012 they made up 8.2% of national tourists; in 2013 the number climbed to 8.8% and by 2014 it had reached 9.5%.
The workweek began with a Breakfast Presentation for 100 sales agents from Magnicharters on Monday, February 8th. Two more presentations took place over the next two days, one of them for 100 travel agents from the central, northern and southern portions of Mexico City.
On Thursday, 50 meeting planners and another 30 travel agents from Price Travel received updates. Finally, the intense workweek concluded with a training session for 90 sales agents for the RCI Call Center.
Hotel representatives from both destinations participated in all of these activities.
