The Riviera Nayarit’s Gastronomy Delighted Attendees Of Vancouver’s MexicoFest

  • 178 tourism industry professionals representing travel agencies, tour operators, industry media, airlines and management came together to enjoy Chef Betty Vázquez’s distinctive “ocean flavor.”
The annual MexicoFest “Experience Mexico in Vancouver” organized by the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB) in Vancouver and celebrated this year at the beginning of September was graced by the Riviera Nayarit’s distinctive Gastronomy, much to the delight of the attendees.

The MTB invited four of Mexico’s tourism destinations, among them, the Riviera Nayarit. The Public Relations department of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) arranged for the participation of our Culinary Ambassador, Chef Betty Vázquez.

“It’s a big responsibility for us to be invited by the MTB to these international events organized by the Federal Government, which is why we asked Betty Vázquez to do us the honor of participating,” commented Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit CVB. “According to what we heard from the attendees themselves, they were delighted!”

The Festival activities geared towards promoting our country included a golf tournament, a trade show and two Mexican dinners created by Betty Vázquez. The dinners took place at the Richmond Country Club and at the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs’ Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver. The slogan was “More than a dinner… A unique Mexican Gastronomy experience.”

There were 178 tourism industry professionals present representing travel agencies, tour operators, industry media, airlines and management. The other three guest Mexican destinations were Durango, Los Cabos and Mazatlan.
