Certifications in The Riviera Nayarit
Today’s travelers tend to seek out not only a beautiful destination with great hotels and impeccable service, but also to minimize their environmental impact as much as possible, both in their daily life and, of course, on the road.
Said travelers who are evolving towards the use of organic products and greater interaction with the local communities, who want to experience Mexico and its people, its villages, traditions, its day-to-day—that is, what makes it a unique destination with its very own identity—are precisely those who will most appreciate this incredible news.
The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has prompted the implementation of the EarthCheck program in order to transform one of its destinations, Nuevo Vallarta, into the second destination in Mexico to meet these international environmental standards.
“EarthCheck is an internationally recognized Environmental Management and Environmental Certification System designed specifically for the Tourism Industry.”
The benefits include:
- Energy savings
- Reduced water consumption
- Reduced carbon dioxide emissions
- Efficient use of natural resources
- Reduced waste
Other projects stemming from private and governmental agencies have also lent themselves to the vision of the CVB and have become part of the solution to achieve these objectives. These include:
- The protection of the Islas Marietas and humpback whale watching
- Blue Flag Certification
- Clean Beach Certification
- Beach Cleanup Network
These are among the many reasons the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau received the “Spirit of Excellence” award in FITUR for its environmental efforts. We are proud to announce our projects as we feel our destination has a concrete purpose that will benefit its clients, including the aforementioned conscientious and environmentally aware traveler.
We invite you to stay in contact with us so you can offer the very best options for your clients, because in the Riviera Nayarit, luxury extends far beyond its hotel and service infrastructure.
