2nd Salsa Mambo Fest To Be Held In The Riviera Nayarit

  • Already in its second year, this spicy festival will showcase brilliant choreography, workshops, dancing, a grand concert and a professional competition. The Riviera Nayarit will open its doors to musicians and dancers from all around the Americas and Europe.

The Riviera Nayarit is putting on its party hat and breaking out the Latin rhythms during the 2014 Salsa Mambo Fest to be held from May 8th though 11th. Now in its second year, it’s set to exceed all expectations.

Sponsored by the Government of the State of Nayarit through the Secretary of Tourism as well as the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), this festival will be celebrated with the Marival Resort & Suites in Nuevo Vallarta as its host hotel.

“We want to encourage culture and the arts,” said Carlos Martínez, General Director for the event. “The event will consist of different activities including a free massive concert for 5,000 people showcasing three different artists in the salsa, cumbia and bachata genres.”

That concert will be held at the Marina Riviera Nayarit on May 8th from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., kicking off a series of artistic endeavors.

The days that follow will include choreography with internationally recognized dancers, dance workshops and a party where everyone can enjoy the music and dancing.

“Last year’s event was a success thanks to the destination’s promotion,” Martínez added. “We had about 816 attendees per day. This year we’re expecting an average of 1,200 visitors per day, which represents a 47% leap in attendance.”

The musicians, dancers and general participants for this event will be arriving from the United States, Canada, England, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, Sweden, Germany, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Cuba and, of course, Mexico.

This festival represents great international exposure for the Rivera Nayarit and another colorful option among the many and diverse activities that are coming up on the calendar for Mexico’s Pacific Treasure.
