Riviera Nayaritgranted 92 new certifications for travel agents specializing in our destination after a joint campaign with Sabre Hospitality Solutions, one of the most important consulting agencies of the touristic industry on an international level. With these new certifications, there are now 2,793 travel agents that specialize on our destination.
The campaign launched with Sabre was directed exclusively to travel agents in the U.S. and Canada, and generated 67,370 media impacts in 9,324 travel agencies. It served not only to certify new experts in Riviera Nayarit, but also to increase the number of reservations that these agents conducted to that destination, by using the company’s platform in up to 81 percent. The average length of stay also increased from 2.8 nights to 5.8 nights, as well as the average rack rate.
Sabre Hospitality Solutions is a company that specializes in providing services and tools for marketing, distribution and consulting of the tourism industry. In 2011 the Web Marketing Association recognized it with a WebAward for its development on the Internet, and its hotel system, Sabre Hotel RFP received an award in the Travel Management category of the Business Traveler Innovation Awards.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit, a civil non-profit dedicated to promoting tourism, is seeking not only to attract more visitors to the destination but also to improve the travel experience, even from the first contact at the point of sale.
The design and implementation of advertising campaigns for targeted markets, like the one done in conjunction with Sabre, is part of that marketing effort that benefits not only the hotels in our destination, but also all the People in Nayarit, because the it reactivates the productive chains in the state.
The goal of the CVB is to create international awareness on Nayarit Riviera as a destination with 190 miles of coastline that extends from its southern border with Jalisco to its northern end at Boca de Teacapán, at its border with Sinaloa. Additionally, the CVB promotes tourist attractions and the wide range of activities available, highlighting the cuisine, nature, adventure, culture and the variety of hotels and services that can be found in our destination.
Promoting tourism is one of the pillars of economic and social development in Nayarit, and this results in a strategy consistent with the objectives of the government headed by Roberto Sandoval, since this activity generates the reactivation of productive chains and creates job opportunities for everybody.

According to the INEGI (National Institute of Statistics and Geography), there are 2,500 municipalities in Mexico, out of which only are 70 that are fully identified with tourism. In these municipalities, the quality of life of their people is better when compared to other locations.
