Riviera Nayarit delighted 14,650 opinion leaders in 2011
- The CVB of this destination is generating positive results by supporting sport and cultural events, and by attracting congresses and conventions
In Riviera Nayarit luxury is our convention, and this year the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Riviera Nayarit (CVB) supported 43 special events in our destination, including the participation of 14,650 opinion leaders, which have helped as marketing assets to attract new tourists.
“Supporting events and conventions in Riviera Nayarit carries an important marketing value because these events attract opinion leaders in specific market segments, who later become ‘touristic ambassadors’, as they usually attract specialized media that cover these events and work as PR and Marketing assets”, explained the president of the CVB of Riviera Nayarit, Fernando González Ortega.
The businessman and representative of this private non-profit association underlined the work being made by the CVB of Riviera Nayarit, as it helped to attract 16 congresses, including the World Convention of the International Apparel Federation, organized by the National Chamber of the Clothing Industry, which included 4,420 participants, including Secretariats of State and business leaders.
The CVB of Riviera Nayarit also supported 27 sport and cultural events like the PGA’s Futures Tour, the Punta Sayulita SUP & Longboard Classic, the International Gourmet Festival, the Touristic Half Marathon and the extension of the International Cervantino Festival. These events attracted not only personalities for the sports, culinary and entertainment circles, but they also brought 10,230 participants to our destination.
“According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), there are 2,500 municipalities in Mexico, out of which only 70 are fully related to tourism. In these municipalities, the quality of life of their people is better when compared to other locations. Therefore, working to promote tourism means working to benefit all the People of Nayarit”, concluded González Ortega.
