The Riviera Nayarit certifies 34 new security supervisors
- The AHMBB developed a seminar in collaboration with IUS Prevention as part of its commitment with its associates.
Is the Riviera Nayarit safe for tourists? Of course, it is! The destination continues to offer the ambiance of a safe, friendly, and close-knit community for both visitors and locals—and the hotels are an essential part of the equation.
To keep a serene environment in local hotels, the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) sponsored a Seminar for Hotel Security Supervisors in conjunction with IUS Prevention.
The seminar was held over four months and presented seven different modules. There were 34 participants from 17 hotels in the Bahía de Banderas, convened by the AHMBB’s Security Committee.
After the seminar ended last Monday, July 1st, participants received their certificates during an event at the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit led by Wistano Ríos, president of the AHMBB’s Security Committee, and Esteban Orosco, VP, and Coordinator for the same entity. Dr. Juan Antonio Rodríguez, managing director of IUS Prevention, was also on hand.
Esteban Orosco congratulated all the supervisors on behalf of the hotel union and highlighted that this training was also a personal achievement and something to be proud of, as the supervisors studied while working full-time, sacrificing their own time to devote themselves to their professional development.
Meanwhile, Dr. Juan Antonio Rodríguez added: “Safety has become a challenge in this country; this is why we need to stay on top of it. Don’t forget that at the end of the day, security is a means to a higher good. And what would that be? That people are calm and feel confident—if we generate an environment of trust and calm in our tourism destination, then we can say that we are doing our part.”
