Riviera Nayarit CVB Completes Successful Tour Through North America
- Press dinners were held for over 65 journalists in the United States and Canada, who represented media that can generate over 100 million media impressions in favor of the Destination in North America; the team also participated in the Zoomer Show attended by 30 thousand Baby Boomers.
The Public Relations department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) just completed a successful tour through North America, accomplishing two very important objectives: inform the Destination’s Natural Markets that it’s ready to receive Tourism and was unaffected by Hurricane Patricia; and update them on the latest news.
“We always try to present other elements, in this case, Gastronomy or, on other occasions, Huichol Art, because they’re tools that generate a deeper connection with the attendees and give them more content for their publications,” commented Marc Murphy, Managing Director for the Riviera Nayarit CVB.
Rodrigo Esponda, Regional Director for North America for the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB), accompanied the Riviera Nayarit CVB in New York and Toronto.
The adventure began on October 29, 2015, in New York with a welcome cocktail and a press dinner for the media. Chef Betty Vázquez and Israel Díaz, the Destination’s Gastronomy and Mixology ambassadors, respectively, were in charge of the menu and cocktails.
This event was attended by 42 journalists and editors who work with media that could generate over 100 million impressions should each one write just one post or article, which speaks to the high profile of the invitees.
Among the top media were Foodnetwork.com (20,629,425 visits), CNNTravel.com (46,623,365 visits), About.com (32,476,279 visits), HuffingtonPost.com (30,387,355 visits) and Forbes.com (22,653,100 visits).
Another press dinner was held in Toronto on November 3rd with a menu by Chef Betty Vázquez to present what’s coming up for what’s left of the year and for 2016. The event was attended by 24 journalists from media including The Toronto Sun, Canada.com, Travel Industry Today, Examiner.com, AOL.ca, and others.
Baby Boomers, Too!
The team took advantage of the trip to Toronto to join the MTB and Puerto Vallarta in the 2015 Zoomer Show from October 31st through November 1st. This Expo targets end consumers, specifically the Retiree Segment, better known as Baby Boomers. There were over 30 thousand attendees at this event over the course of those two days.
