AHMBB Board of Directors reelected

  • Jesús Carmona Jiménez remains at the head of the organization, representing all the hotel industry segments in the Bahía de Banderas’ municipality.

The Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) reinstated its Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 period under guidelines of unity, continuity, and trust. Jesús Carmona Jiménez, operating director of Vallarta Gardens, will preside over the Board for the fourth consecutive year.

The Board of Directors was unanimously reelected during the Ordinary Assembly held on Monday, March 29th. This meeting was well attended, reflecting the interest, membership, and strength that this organization has acquired in Riviera Nayarit’s tourism sector.

The AHMBB is comprised of representatives from all hotel segments and is based in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas, with 50 associated hotels in the areas of Nuevo Vallarta/Flamingos, Bucerías, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta de Mita/Punta Mita, Sayulita, San Pancho, and Lo de Marcos.

Carmona Jiménez—who is also president of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB)—, was joined by Esteban Orosco, from the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, as Vice President, and José Antonio Ayala, from the Marival Group, as Secretary. Liliana Meléndez, from the Villa Group, was appointed Treasurer.

Solidarity and trust

Jesús Carmona Jiménez presented his 2020 results report during the session, highlighting that the Board of Directors’ continuity and the support from the three levels of government have been vital to the Riviera Nayarit currently being ranked among the most important tourist destinations in Mexico worldwide.

“We are proud of our results despite the difficulties we have faced in the last year due to the pandemic. However, we continue to work together across all sectors. I am also honored because the Banderas Bay Hotel Industry has placed great confidence in the work we do and I remain deeply committed to continuing to achieve positive results for the benefit of all members of the association,” he stated.

Marc Murphy, managing director of AHMBB and the Riviera Nayarit CVB, was pleased with the re-election, which he described as timely for maintaining the trajectory that has led to the Riviera Nayarit’s tourism recovery.

“We are pleased with the continuity of the board of the AHMBB, as this means that the projects and promotional actions will remain on course with the same momentum,” he said.
