Fall in the Riviera Nayarit is a great time to travel

  • The Riviera Nayarit is the ideal destination for new travelers thanks to its marvelous beaches, luxury hotels, and virgin natural surroundings.

Travelers who want to vacation and have fun in high style, with plenty of pampering and proximity to celebrities will find what they’re looking for in the Riviera Nayarit.

Beautiful beaches, elegant resorts, relaxation, and close contact with nature… What more could you ask for in a dream vacation?

The fact is, contrary to the post-COVID-19 forecasts regarding travel (with respect to people being more cautious when it comes to engaging in this activity), a poll conducted by online travel agency Expedia shows some surprising results.

The data and trends indicated that travelers are ready to explore their dream destinations while still closely following the warnings and restrictions imposed by the new normal.

To the beach by air or by land

According to a survey by Expedia of 1,500 Mexicans between the ages of 18 and 45, the three activities they miss the most during lockdown were: seeing friends and family (64% of the answers); going to concerts, festivals or weddings (36%); and traveling (35%). To this point, 54% of the people surveyed plan to travel during the last trimester of 2020 and 47% prefer beach destinations.

Among those who plan on traveling soon, 31% want to go by plane within the country; 30% want to travel by car not far from their home; and 12% hope to leave the country.

With respect to the type of accommodations, 30% of those surveyed say they prefer comfortable hotels with certain luxuries, 23% prefer open spaces with camping or hiking, and 7% want destinations with kids’ clubs.

A premier destination

The survey reflects without a doubt that national tourists are major activators of the Mexican economy, something that’s already taking place in the Riviera Nayarit, which registered a notable increase in national tourists in the last trimester. This is a premier destination with some of the best hotels in Mexico, as well as air connectivity to the principal cities in the United States and Canada.

“The fall is definitely a great time to travel to Mexico’s Pacific Treasure; we’re already seeing an increase in the arrival of national tourists. Even though the beaches and hotels are open on a partial basis, the warmth of our destination continues intact,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

Remember, Mexico’s Pacific Treasure will be here when you can start to travel again.
