 Islas Marietas

This has to be one of those tours you’ve always heard about and dreamed of doing. The first thing to keep in mind is that access to the Islas Marietas (or Marietas Islands) is restricted to 116 people per day and only from Wednesday through Sunday. Make sure you reserve your tour ahead of time—you’ll be buying access to La Playa del Amor (Love Beach), also known as Playa Escondida (Hidden Beach). Although this tour is fun for families, we don’t recommend heading out with kids under five years of age.

Surf & SUP

This is probably one of the most popular sports among tourists who vacation in the Riviera Nayarit, though there’s no doubt travelers from around the world also make their way here in search of the perfect waves. It might sound far-fetched, but all you need is one surfing class to get you to stand up and surf a wave or learn to row without falling off the board. We promise it’s an unforgettable experience you’ll want to do again and again. Look for a Surf & SUP School in the Riviera Nayarit and book your class!

Kite Boarding

Sounds hard, doesn’t it? Well: in the Riviera Nayarit, we have the best instructors! Every year we host a Kite Boarding festival with the participation of some of the local schools, which have certified instructors who will guide you every step of the way. Sign up for a class! By the way, Bucerías is the best beach for this particular water sport.

Diving

Diving is definitely in a class of its own in the Riviera Nayarit. The nearby towns offer all kinds of experiences for divers: you’ll no doubt find the best place for you to interact with the local flora and fauna according to the season. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, because this particular activity is easily adapted to your level of experience.

These are just some of the favorite tours and activities you can enjoy in the Riviera Nayarit. Don’t miss a chance to practice one or all and live the moment. And remember to add the hashtag #RivieraNayarit on your social media posts—we’d love to see you enjoying the water!
