St. Regis Punta Mita Resort celebrates 10 successful years in the Riviera Nayarit
- The hotel, located on the “Glamour Peninsula,” is reinforcing its commitment to local culture and sustainability with a limited edition bag embroidered with beads by Huichol artisans.
The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, one of the luxury brands that lends prestige to the Riviera Nayarit, is celebrating its tenth year of offering unforgettable stays in the exclusive and luxury ambiance of Punta Mita by reinforcing its commitment to local culture and sustainability.
The Mrs. Caroline bag was unveiled during the festivities surrounding the tenth anniversary. This stylish, limited-edition accessory—inspired by the resort—was created by fashion designer Armando Takeda, who focused on the unique elements that have transformed this beach destination into a world-class icon.
The celebration took place December 7-9, when fashion lovers gathered in Punta Mita to enjoy a luxurious experience at the St. Regis, a resort set against the incomparable beauty of the Mexican Pacific.
The attendees were the first to obtain the Mrs. Caroline bag, which sports a charm with beadwork created by Huichol artisans. The charm was inspired by the blue-footed booby—a species that lives in the Islas Marietas and can only be found in this natural park located right across from the resort’s beach or in the Galapagos Islands. The bird is embodied in the gray tones of the pompon that make up the charm with feet made out of Huichol beadwork.
This eclectic and versatile bag is the perfect piece to travel with to the world’s best beaches or most cosmopolitan cities. It’s designed in a subtle white and King Cole Red—a color used in reference of the brand’s legacy fabric—on an elegant blue cotton canvas, creating an optimal three-dimensional effect that’s unique in style. The St. Regis shield is printed on the bag’s wooden handle to honor the 10-year history of the St. Regis Punta Mita and the legacy of The Astors, the family that founded the St. Regis upon their arrival in Latin America a decade ago.
Artisanship meets high fashion
James Hughes, general manager of the St. Regist Punta Mita, highlighted the partnership established with designer Armando Takeda: “We’re delighted with this partnership. In our minds fashion is an innovative proposition that allows our clients to celebrate these past 10 years before, during, and after their stay at the hotel, and to take the heart of the St. Regis Punta Mita along with them on all their travels.”
He added that St. Regis is always looking to partner with ambassadors that share its brand’s commitment to excellence, thus accentuating their client’s passions and offering experiences that expand beyond the hotel doors. This partnership between Armando Takeda—whose followers include Cecilia Suárez, Dominika Paleta and Jacqueline Bracamontes—and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort came about organically, thanks to the values shared between the brands.
“The hotel is known for its work with local producers and artisans whose products we integrate into the luxurious experience of each stay, something that Takeda has been able to achieve with his own brand by offering a unique and elegant modern style that blends haute couture and artisanship with the very best materials.”
Designer Armando Takeda says Punta Mita is a destination that offers endless inspiration: “It’s a pleasure to create a versatile travel piece that captures the serenity of the beach with the evergreen aesthetics of a brand like St. Regis. I hope the Mrs. Caroline bag will become the perfect travel accessory for today’s sophisticated traveler,” he added.
Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB), congratulated The St. Regist Punta Mita Resort on its 10thanniversary and its enduring leadership in the luxury market.
“The hotel contributes to a better experience for our tourists by improving the quality of the products and services it offers, and this in turn supports the promotional efforts of our office,” he added.
