Brazilian Tour Operators Inspect The Region

  • Brazil is one of the top countries of origin for tourists visiting from the Emerging Markets of South America, second only to Colombia. Both countries have been most responsive to the Joint Promotional Campaign within the continent’s Southern Cone.

The activities of the Joint Promotional Campaign aimed at increasing the number of visitors from South America’s Emerging Markets to the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta continues during this first week of August with a FAM trip for eight Brazilian Tour Operators (TO).

Top-level executives from the group of Brazilian TOs that already have a business alliance with the region visited both destinations in order to get to know the product more in depth and thus strengthen their commercial strategies.

“Perseverance renders good results—we’re already seeing more Brazilian visitors in the surveys,” commented Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We’re very interested in this market because these are travelers that know what they want and are willing to spend the money to get it.”

Brazil is the second country of origin with the most visitors from South America’s Emerging Markets at 12.8%, second only to Colombia with 15.4% of visitors. Both markets have shown the best response to the promotions undertaken in the continent’s Southern Cone.

The agents toured different attractions in the region, gathering experiences that will serve as their sales tools to work with clients. After their visit to Puerto Vallarta they went on to the Riviera Nayarit, where they enjoyed the cultural charm of San Pancho, surfing and shopping in Sayulita, the luxury aspect of Punta Mita, the natural beauty of Las Islas Marietas and the ample hotel infrastructure and services available in Nuevo Vallarta.

The travelers were surprised at the wide diversity of beaches in the Riviera Nayarit and its exquisite gastronomy, something that will doubtless resonate with Brazilians.

The Joint Promotional Tour will continue its work in this market from August 24-28 with visits to the cities of Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro.
