The Joint Promotion Lands On The West Coast
- Nearly 200 travel agents in Seattle and Portland enjoyed the presentations, plus there were site inspections and joint promotions with hotels at the Costco Travel Call Center and other top travel agencies.
The West Coast enjoyed some of the activities put on by the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta Joint Promotional Campaign from October 5-9, 2015.
“These events seek to increase the number of passengers we receive from Seattle and Portland, two cities with ample airlift, not to mention they’re among the Top 10 cities of origin with the most visitors to the tourism corridor made up of the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The first training workshop was held in Seattle on October 5that the Costco Travel Call Center, where they have a good number of clients that fit the profile for our destinations thanks to their high purchasing power and the fact they like our beaches.
The next day they visited several travel agencies accompanied by representatives of some of the region’s hotels.
On October 7th and 9th there were dinner presentations for 75 travel agents in Seattle and 100 in Portland. Both seminars were held in collaboration with Mexico Unlimited, a top tour operator in the area.
Demand for travel from the West Coast to this region sparked the reopening of an Alaska Airlines direct flight from Portland; the first direct flight from Seattle with Delta Airlines is set to begin as well, just to cite two examples from this region, which already has a ample air connectivity with our destinations.
Thus the Riviera Nayarit CVB and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism trust collaborate towards the constant promotion in one of our Natural Markets, which has historically strengthened this region, in this way benefiting those who make a living directly or indirectly from tourism.
