The Riviera Nayarit’s Tourists Show Their Loyalty
- Mexico’s Jalisco, Canada’s province of British Columbia and California in the United States continue to be the markets that lead the influx of tourists to the Destination; Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina continue to grow.
The official statistics announced by the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) confirmed the loyalty of the markets that lead the influx of tourists to the Destination.
“We know Mexico, Canada and the United States will not let us down, but the numbers reveal that England and the Emerging Markets from South America continue to grow little by little, a sign that our efforts are on point,” commented Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.
45.2% of visitors were from Mexico, followed by Canadians at 27% and travelers from the U.S. at 24.8%; British visitors continue in fourth place on the list, on this occasion reaching 2.1%.
The remaining 0.9% of visitors was made up of other nationalities; the Colombians and Brazilians lead this small number, followed by New Zealanders, Chileans and Argentines.
In the domestic front, Jalisco continues to lead the states that send the most visitors to the Riviera Nayarit with 37.6% of the total, with Guanajuato in second place at 13.5%, followed by Mexico City at 10.5%, Aguascalientes at 9.1% and Nayarit at 4.2%.
In Canada, the province of British Colombia continues in the lead at 29.8%, followed by Alberta at 17.9%, then Ontario at 16%, Quebec at 15.9%, Manitoba at 10.4% and Saskatchewan at 9.8%; the remaining 0.1% is from Nova Scotia.
California is by far the busiest state of origin for tourists from the United States at 22.5%, followed by Illinois at 9.1%, Colorado at 7.9%, Texas at 6.9%, Minnesota at 6.6% and Washington at 5.6%. The remainder registered at less than 5%.
