Riviera Nayarit’s marketing efforts made an impression on over 13,000 agents in 2012

•    In 2012, Mexico’s Pacific Treasure was in direct contact with representatives of the touristic industry at fairs, expos and training events
•    We doubled the number of contacts with professionals with regards to 2011

In Riviera Nayarit luxury is our magic, and in 2012 we contacted 13,360 professionals of the touristic industry through 53 different marketing actions undertaken by the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) in order to offer first-hand information to travel agents and tour operators in fairs, expos and other training events. These numbers are transcendental as they represent an increase of almost 100% with regards to 2011 numbers, when we contacted 6,254 industry professionals.

The CVB is a non-profit organization that promotes the entire Riviera Nayarit region, working under the direction of the Hotel and Motel Association of Bahía de Banderas, together with the Government for The People headed by Roberto Sandoval. Through efforts like these, we’re promoting tourist activity and fostering the harmonious development of all the people in Nayarit.

We work on four main areas, and one of them is a permanent and ongoing outreach with travel agents, tour operators and their representatives, as they represent the first line of contact with tourists and become chief promoters and sellers of this destination. In 2012 we participated in a total of 53 events and contacted more than 13,000 industry professionals, and more than 275,000 potential visitors.

“In these events we provide tools so that professionals can encourage tourists to visit our destination. We promote not only the 180-mile coastline that makes up Riviera Nayarit, ranging from Nuevo Vallarta to Novillero, but also archaeological sites like Los Toriles, traditional villages like Jala, historical sites like Tepic and Compostela, and also a first-hand experience with our origins in the Sierra, with the Cora and Huichol cultures”, said the Managing Director of the CVB of Riviera Nayarit, Marc Murphy.

Nayarit has especially adequate conditions to position tourism as the axis of its development, not only for its privileged natural environment, but also because of the spectacular landscapes of the Mexican Pacific coast, as well as a number of historic sites. To promote Riviera Nayarit in the way that this CVB is doing is to promote a harmonious development that benefits all the people of Nayarit.
