Riviera Nayarit’s efforts to diversify its markets continue

  • Twelve agents from high-end Russian travel agencies visited our destination after a connection made at the Tianguis Turístico

In Riviera Nayarit luxury is our nature. This nature captivated several Russian representatives from Armina Travel, who decided to begin promoting our destination for their high-end market after experiencing the high-end options available in Riviera Nayarit.
During the last week of May, twelve representatives from 10 of the most respected Russian travel agencies visited our destination, seeking to attract Russian tourists that look exclusivity. They toured our destination in an inspection trip in order to be able to attract Russian tourism here.
“This isn’t the first time we make efforts to attract Russian tourism. In 2009 several agents visited our destination, and soon after, one single group of travelers generated an economic downpour of $150,000 USD. This is one example of why the objectives for this year include attracting new market niches, and we’re trying to bring tourism from Europe and South America, and even from Russia”, stated Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit.
As part of this strategy, in 2012 the CVB made promotional work in Brazil and Colombia, which has already started to generate results, including the upcoming LIDE event next October, an event by the largest business association in Brazil. There has also been an intense promotional campaign in Colombia featuring vacation packages, promoted by Travel Depot, Aeromexico and the Mexican Council for the Promotion of Tourism (CPTM), together with our destination.
Russian travel agents tourned Riviera Nayarit and experienced high-end services, enjoying the regional gastronomy and the haute cuisine in our destination, as well as enjoying typical seaside towns.
