Riviera Nayarit burns away boredom
- The traditional San Blas Carnival will bring dance and fun for the enjoyment of young and old
Riviera Nayarit is the ideal place to banish stress, anger and boredom. On February 21st, our destination will host the traditional San Blas Carnival, which aside from the procession and the reading of Bad Mood’s will, promises great dancing and fun even for German Tourist arriving by boat.
Early on the morning the first Arrival of a cruise with german tourist will start the traditional Carnival celebration, which is 101 years old. Performances and music will be presented from 8:00 am, as the boat is expected to arrive.
Under the title “101 years of tradition” a parade with ‘Comparsas’ and float will be leaded by Betty Macias, crowned as the Carnival Queen this 2012, and Miguel Pizarro, crowned as the King of Joy. Afterwards a spectacular party at Playa El Borrego has been prepared, open to all public, where prizes to the best float and ‘comparsa’ will be presented.
This year, the San Blas Carnival is being organized by the community in a joint effort with government authorities, which has put a great deal of enthusiasm to rescue their traditions. They’ve also requested the support of the private sector, of the different government levels and of several institutions.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit congratulates this group of individuals, as the effort they devote to preserve their traditional celebrations translates into a major incentive to attract tourists to our destination.
