Despierta América comes to Riviera Nayarit
· The TV show with the largest penetration rate among the Latino audience in the United States will visit Mexico’s Pacific Treasure
Punta Mita, Aguamilpa, San Blas, and Sayulita: the luxury, natural landscapes, and cultural wealth of Riviera Nayarit will be presented by Despierta America, the most successful TV show devoted to the Hispanic audience in the United States. The show will visit the destination known as Mexico’s Pacific Treasure on June 20 – 26 in search of the best stories, which will be presented in their program.
The show host, Paola Gutierrez, will lead segments that will be shot by the production crew of Univision, including a cooking class with three chefs from Nayarit: Betty Vazquez, Gerardo Sandoval and Marco Valdivia.
The show will present an expedition in search of the most exotic bird sightings at the mangroves of La Tovara, as well as the ancestral traditions of the Huichol community of Agua Milpa.
Paola will also take a surfing class in Sayulita and will enjoy the luxury that Punta Mita has to offer, introducing the exclusive services that one can find in this magical destination.
Through this public relations effort, the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit is looking to generate brand awareness among millions of viewers in the United States, by presenting information that introduces the competitive advantages of our destination in order to influence their travel decisions for their next vacation.

Univision is the network with the largest penetration among Hispanic viewers in the United States. It reaches 67% of Latinos in this country, including prime time and outdoing other major networks in the United States. Overall, 45 out of the 50 most popular TV programs dedicated to this market segment are broadcasted through this network. Despierta America is one of the top shows, and has even coined the pet phrase “Echate pa’ca”, making it one of the most popular in this country.
