Travel agents recharged their batteries in the Riviera Nayarit

  • Over 400 travel agents participated in Record Vacation’s 15th “Ponte las Pilas” (Recharge Your Batteries) National Convention to have fun and learn more about the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta’s hotel infrastructure.

More than 400 travel agents were in the Riviera Nayarit from May 27 to 30 to gather for fun and training at the 15th National “Ponte las pilas” (Recharge Your Batteries) Convention, organized by wholesaler Record Vacation.

The event was held in person at the Paradise Village hotel, one of the 20 host hotels that welcomed the travel agents in the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta. All of the participants closely followed the biosecurity protocols established by the Nayarit health authorities.

Participants included travel agents from the different Mexican states where the wholesaler operator has sales offices, including Aguascalientes, Baja California, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, and Yucatan.

More than 15 hotel executives from both destinations were also in attendance, offering special tour packages to encourage sales through Record Vacation. The Riviera Nayarit hotels at the convention included Paradise Village, Marival Group, Riu Hotels, Samba Vallarta, and Grand Palladium Vallarta.

Strength, commitment, and prosperity

Record Vacation acknowledged each of the participating hotels and the host destinations for their support in making the event run smoothly.  The Riviera Nayarit also presented an award to the Wholesaler, specifically to founder and managing director Jorge Benavides, and his son Omar Benavides, for continuing their activities despite the difficulties the tourism sector experienced due to the pandemic.

“Thank you, Riviera Nayarit, for this beautiful sculpture of a deer decorated by the Huichol. It is an award that will always be very close to our hearts. The deer represents our company’s strength, commitment, and prosperity with Nayarit, always walking hand-in-hand towards success. Thank you for this beautiful present.  The Record Vacation team thanks you,” said Jorge Benavides.

A love for tourism

The event included the presence of important speakers who shared their travel stories. They also spent time with the agents, with whom they share a common love of tourism.

This year, the three outstanding speakers were Alan x el Mundo, Alex Tienda, and Adriana Corona, all of whom shared their experiences and knowledge with the attendees.

Alan Estrada, known for his travel channel “Alan x el Mundo,” gave a talk on “The Power of Travel,” where he described how the magic of travel changed his life forever and how he is now a successful travel blogger and influencer.

José Antonio Tienda Ramirez, better known as “Alex Tienda,” spoke on the topic of “Creating Stories and Connecting with the Audience.” He shared some of his experiences, including how he always dreamed of becoming an airline pilot and how he started his career. However, as fate would have it, he discovered “the art of traveling.” As a result, he began to design marketing techniques for top tourism brands and other companies, although he became successful by traveling and blogging about it on his social networks.

Adriana Corona, a graduate in Technical Communication Sciences with Postgraduate Degrees in Human Development and Senior Management, presented a lecture entitled “How to Face Challenges,” a very ad hoc topic for the times we are living in because of the Covid-19 pandemic. She shared valuable tips on dealing with adversity in difficult times and how to get ahead and be successful.

Corona’s speech signaled the end of the convention, though the activities continued, including inspection visits to various hotels, among them Marival Armony, Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta, and the host hotel, Paradise Village.

The Riviera Nayarit is a safe destination. Our hotels, restaurants, and tourist establishments follow all the health protocols established by the Federal Government’s Ministry of Health and operate at the allowed capacities. Access to the beaches is limited. Be a responsible tourist: wear your mask and keep your distance.

We’re ready!
