The Riviera Nayarit And Vallarta Brought It Home In Montreal
- A seminar was held for the Tour Operators with the presence of top authorities, there was a training workshop at a Call Center and the team participated in the International Tourism & Travel Show, which was attended by over 33 thousand Canadians searching for a place to lay their beach towel this winter.
The Promotions department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and its counterpart, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, brought it home in Montreal after holding a series of activities to incentivize the Canadian market to visit this region during the upcoming season as the cold intensifies in the Northern reaches of the continent.
Of all the visitors that came to the Riviera Nayarit during the first six months of 2015, 13.2% were from Montreal, placing the city in second place just behind Vancouver. This, according information gathered from the Riviera Nayarit CVB Barometer.
An appreciation dinner was held on October 22, 2015, for the principal Tour Operators and their top sellers of the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta. Sunwing Vacations and Transat Holidays were present, as well as their Product Managers for the Pacific region. There were a total of 30 attendees, mainly travel agency personnel.
Francisco del Río, Consul General of Mexico in Montreal, and Manuel Montelongo, Director of the Montreal office of the Mexico Tourism Board and his Deputy Director, Fernanda Rosas, were also present during the event.
The next day the team held four training sessions about the destinations together with the region’s hotel representatives for 30 travel agents for the Air Transat Call Center.
Afterwards, the tour repaired to the International Tourism & Travel Show from October 23-25, which had the participation of over 33 thousand attendees in search of options for their upcoming winter vacations.
The Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta were very sought-after participants, handing out promotional material to hundreds of Canadians. They were accompanied by some of the region’s hotels, as well.
The top Canadian tour operators also participated in the travel show; these entities are direct sellers of destinations, among them the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta.
