The Riviera Nayarit boosts Romance Tourism
- Regional Wedding Planners were warmly welcomed by The Villa Group Beach Resorts to a magical ambiance, brimming with hospitality and featuring exquisite cuisine.
The Villa Group Beach Resorts held the Reignite Wedding Season 2021 event aimed at regional wedding planners. A group of 26 professionals in the production and organization of weddings had the opportunity to appreciate the product offered by Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit, a luxury hotel overflowing with romantic details.
The event took place in one of the hotel’s magnificent penthouses, where guests were entertained by the corporate executive committee in a charming ambiance, brimming with hospitality and featuring exquisite cuisine prepared by the La Casona restaurant. In addition, the three wedding planners with the most events held at Villa Group properties were recognized for their work.
Location, service, product
Jorge Castro, General Manager of Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit, was in charge of welcoming the wedding planners. He expressed the importance of reactivating Romance Tourism and invited them to get to know the hotel and its services.
“When it comes to romantic vacations on the beach, it is difficult to find another destination that can impress couples in such a magical way as the Riviera Nayarit,” he mentioned.
In this context, the Villa La Estancia hotel is a perfect and absolutely fabulous place to celebrate a wedding: “We have an ocean view from practically every room, made possible by its horseshoe shape. Today we had at least 47 people in one villa, with all the facilities and amenities for a fabulous event. We have the location, we have the service, and we have the product,” he said.
Although efforts are underway to attract this type of event, the executive stated that the hotel must not relax its “guard” in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the hotel is following the appropriate biosecurity protocols to avoid contagions.
“Covid-19 is not over yet. We must all take this into account, even though the cases are becoming fewer and fewer. In the United States, the vaccination program has been very successful—it’s going very fast—which is helping to improve the economy and increase occupancy. People are becoming more and more confident about traveling to this destination, but it is not the time to lower our guard,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Leslie Frausto, president of the Romance Industry Association (AIR) Puerto Vallarta & Riviera Nayarit, said that one of the benefits of the pandemic was the opportunity for wedding planners to improve together.
She noted that the Riviera Nayarit has an impressive infrastructure, which has focused on luxury tourism in the last few years. Hotels are under renovation, the staff is receiving training, and the industry’s vision is not to be stagnant, “not rest on our laurels,” but to be a springboard to motivate others through training.
The CVB will promote the segment
Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit CVB, commented that one of the main goals of this outreach to the Romance segment is to make this destination a suitable and ideal place for weddings. This could generate substantial economic revenue and develop innovative tourism products that will help improve the offer in this segment.
He stressed that the participation of the Riviera Nayarit in national and international events and fairs specialized in Romance Tourism will be particularly encouraged. In the years before the pandemic, the CVB participated in the World Romance Travel Conference – Love Mexico and the Romance Forum Travel, among others.
