Catching the shrimp at Riviera Nayarit.

These shrimpboats are part of the landscape at San Blas, Riviera Nayarit, they are also called trawlers because they use a trawl to fish the shrimpo from deep sea, once reached a size up to 20 centimeters. The San Blas trawlers are up to 30 meters long and 6 meters wide, weight around 45 tons and have a 200 to 350 HP engine. Usually they were made of wood, nowdays metal is much more popular, have an icing room where fishermen store the shrimp, sometimes it is sustituted with a freezer. Pilot cabin as well as other facilities are allways on bow, so the stern is free for the catching maneuvers.
