- Last December, Sayulita hosted the annual TNF Athlete Summit
In Riviera Nayaritluxury is our adventure. That is the reason why last December Mexico’s Pacific Treasure was selected as the host destination to the annual The North Face (TNF) Athlete Summit.
“This year the Summit was in Sayulita, a beautiful little surf town. Call it a work meeting or a paid vacation… I can say that at times like the Summit I feel very fortunate to have climbed for The North Face for the last eight years. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and ask, ‘s this really my job?”, wrote in his blog Cedar Wright, one of the TNF Athlete Team members.
According to Katie Ramage, Sports Marketing Director to TNF, every year the team –which includes some of the best climbers, skiers, and ultra-runners— participates in this annual Summit where the group has confidential meetings and a good time. They talk about expeditions, product, and most importantly: bond as a team.
“We rotate the meeting around the globe each year, but Sayulita became a favorite destination a few years back, and the last visit was our third”, said Ramage on an e-mail to the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CBV) of Riviera Nayarit.
The CVB of Riviera Nayarit has put special emphasis in the promotion of this market segment, as it not only brings a major economic downpour to our region, but it also promotes mouth-to-mouth publicity among opinion leaders and subsequent trips by those who participate in congresses.
“On our free activity day, I opted to go snorkeling instead of surfing, which turned out to be a great decision, as our crew of runners, skiers, and climbers saw Dolphins, Whales, and a host of beautiful sea birds. It was one of those magical playful moments when you really appreciate and feel a part of the natural world”, said Wright about his Riviera Nayarit experience.
