Riviera Nayarit’s efforts in South America are generating results

  • As a result of the promotional efforts made by the CVB and hotels of Mexico’s Pacific Treasure at the Vitrina Turística Anato in Colombia, our destination has already welcomed the first group of visitors from that country

The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit is working together with hotels in our destination in order to attract new market niches. These efforts are already paying off, as a group of 60 executives from the Colombian stock market had a work session at Vallarta Palace in Nuevo Vallarta last June 18 to 21.
In 2012, the CVB of Riviera Nayarit increased its marketing efforts in Colombia through the Vitrina Turística of the National Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism in Colombia (Anato), which took place between February 29 and March 2. As a result of this visit, Travel Depot, the largest Colombian travel agency and Aeromexico jointly began promoting Mexico’s Pacific Treasure in that country.
Riviera Nayarit participated in a Training Seminar offered by the Mexican Council for the Promotion of Tourism (CPTM), on February 28, where 100 travel agents received information on our destination. Afterwards, on February 29, prior to the opening ceremony, the delegation representing Mexico’s Pacific Treasure offered a breakfast presentation to introduce Riviera Nayarit to another 100 travel agents that are associated with Travel Depot.
Riviera Nayarit also offered a press conference to 40 of the main communication agencies in Colombia. The magic of the Huichol culture, the tradition of this colonial destination and the charm of Nayarit’s towns located in the sierra were presented by the CVB of Riviera Nayarit in order to benefit all the people of Nayarit.
Vallarta Palace networked with this group since the beginning and eventually welcomed them here last June. “This is a very important group, as they are high-end executives and opinion leaders between 25 and 45 years old. They visited our destination for four nights, and will surely return home to promote the beauty of our destination”, explained Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the CVB of Riviera Nayarit.
