The Riviera Nayarit Certifies Tourism Personnel

  • Ten “M” (for “Moderniza,” in Spanish) seals of approval were distributed to local businesses, as well as 31 certificates for Hiking, 44 for Bartending, 23 in Service Quality and 15 in Guest Entertainment were handed out to students, transportation specialists and personnel from different hotels and restaurants.

The Riviera Nayarit is constantly striving to offer the best services possible, which is why on Wednesday February 12th, the Nayarit Tourism Secretariat (Sectur), presented the “M” (“Moderniza”) seal of approval to 10 businesses on behalf of the Federation.

The seal of approval was presented to: Bambú Naturals, Mariscos El Coleguita, Rancho Banderas, Café Des Artistes, Ikuai Restaurant, Raixes Restaurant Bar, El Chivero Restaurant, Osos Oister Bar and Sandzibar Restaurant Bar.

Besides the “M” seals, the Federation handed out 31 certificates for Hiking, 44 for Bartending, 23 for Service Quality, and 15 in Guest Entertainment among students, transportation specialists, and hotel and restaurant personnel.

These updates were part of the actions undertaken by the department of Improvement of Service Quality from the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), which helped coordinate the process from the beginning through to the tallying of the results.

“This is just an example of the quality of services present in the Riviera Nayarit and throughout the state of Nayarit,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director for the CVB. “We’re one of the destinations with the most certifications at a national level, and not just on the beach.”

These certificates don’t simply adorn a wall—they prove themselves on a daily basis when the service provider attends to the tourist.

“Employees with the correct training have more possibilities of being hired and of obtaining better positions, this is what the Governor is looking for,” added Rodrigo Pérez, the Secretary of Tourism. “This will in turn be reflected in the tourism providers’ bottom line and that of their families.”

“Tourism in the Riviera Nayarit is the tip of the iceberg. The impetus for the Riviera Nayarit to become a top tourism producer in Mexico comes from president Enrique Peña Nieto and governor Roberto Sandoval, and the only way to make it happen is to keep training our personnel in the transportation, tourism service, restaurant and hotel categories,” added the Secretary.
