Alaska Airlines announces new route from San Jose, CA to the Riviera Nayarit

Alaska Airlines announced its new San Jose-Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit route that will begin operating in March 2020, improving connectivity between the San Francisco Bay area in California and the Banderas Bay region.
According to information provided by the airline, the new flight is seasonal and begins on March 19, 2020. This is a daily flight aboard Airbus 320 planes with a maximum capacity of 200 passengers.
The estimated duration of the flight from the Norman Y. Mineta International Airport in San Jose to the Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz airport—serving Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit—is four hours; the return flight takes three hours.
According to Marc Murphy, managing director of the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), options like this direct flight have helped the Riviera Nayarit has become one of the most sought-after destinations for North American travelers.
