South Korean TV And Radio Will Promote The Riviera Nayarit
- The only TV and radio station in South Korea, created with the sole objective of producing educational and cultural information, selected the destination to produce its documentaries and cultural programs.
The Public Relations department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) assisted EBS Educational Broadcast System producers from South Korea, who were invited by the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB).
They were offered the opportunity to choose destinations in Mexico for their visit and the Riviera Nayarit was their first choice. Besides being the only TV and radio station in the country, EBS also sends cable and satellite signals to its citizens in North America, just a few hours from the Destination making for very easy visits.
Because EBS is concerned with producing educational and cultural programs, they taped a day in the life of a Huichol woman in the community of Potrero de la Palmita, a day in the life of a fisherman in the Isla de Mexcaltitán, an interview with Chef Betty Vázquez in San Blas, a visit to the famous Islas Marietas and witnessed the liberation of sea turtle hatchlings in San Pancho. The also visited Tepic and Punta de Mita.
The South Koreans were very surprised with the gastronomy, the nature, the culture and the hotel infrastructure. It’s interesting to point out that in the different polls initiated by the Riviera Nayarit CVB there has been participation from South Korean tourists especially in San Blas, mainly because of the cultural connection of the port with Asia.
Although South Korea is a relatively small territory, it has a high population density with over 50 million citizens. They also boast over 200 thousand followers on their social media platforms.
