KICKS OFF 2016 WITH PRESTIGIOUS TOURISM ACCOLADES
RIVIERA NAYARIT, MEXICO – February 19, 2016 – Riviera Nayarit is pleased to announce a number of prestigious accolades granted by travAlliancemedia, Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and American Automobile Association (AAA), recognizing the destination’s luxurious accommodations and world-class experiences. Riviera Nayarit adds a Travvy Award from travAlliancemedia, one Gold and two Silver Adrian Awards from HSMAI, and one additional AAA Four Diamond hotel rating to its already long roster of praises by these three acclaimed organizations.

Travvy Award
The destination of Riviera Nayarit was awarded Gold for “Best Luxury Destination: Mexico” in the 2016 Travvy Awards, which recognizes entities with the highest standards of excellence in the tourism industry. Winners were selected through a voting process with 39,000 participating travel agents. Still a relatively new destination in Mexico, Riviera Nayarit has quickly gained a reputation for attracting luxury travelers and brands, with new properties from One & Only and W Hotels recently announced, as well as an entertainment park from Cirque de Solei.
The destination of Riviera Nayarit was awarded Gold for “Best Luxury Destination: Mexico” in the 2016 Travvy Awards, which recognizes entities with the highest standards of excellence in the tourism industry. AAA Four Diamond Rating
Matlali Hotel, now known as Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills Resort & Spa Riviera Nayarit, was awarded the AAA Four Diamond distinction. Situated near the magnificent Bahia de Banderas and surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains, the property was built in a sustainable manner and integrated into its surrounding flora and fauna. The award boasts the property’s tranquil suites, relaxing infinity pool and rejuvenating Makawé Spa.

The award is a direct result of the ongoing mission to connect with travel aficionados that are searching for an emphasis on luxury and style. Ocean Magazine “is the essential go-to guide for women in search of an inside look at all of the elements of everything that is travel and style.” Additionally, Riviera Nayarit won two Silver awards for recent pieces on the destination in the Los Angeles Timesand on USAToday.com. The Los Angeles Times newspaper placement showed highlights of Riviera Nayarit’s nature and adventure experiences, which included a panga (wooden boat) ride through a mangrove and surf lessons on the beach. As one of the largest print newspapers in the United States, this story was directly targeted to the destination’s core audience and established Riviera Nayarit as the go-to destination in Mexico for nature-based and adventure activities.
