The Riviera Nayarit offers luxury and safety for LGBT+ travelers
- The CVB welcomed a group of media professionals specializing in this segment, as part of its marketing strategy of promoting the destination to diverse markets.
In its pursuit to attract more tourists to the destination and diversify its markets, the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has consolidated a promotional strategy focused on different segments. One of them is the LGBT+ market.
The close partnerships that the CVB maintains with its hotel partners and the multiple actions involving journalists and travel writers, as well as bloggers, YouTubers, and influencers, help maximize these efforts.
During Pride Month, a group of media specialized in the LGBT+ segment visited this tourist destination to explore the most distinctive places and then publish their travel experiences on their respective platforms.
Coordinated by ENroute Communications, the journalists who visited The St. Regis Mexico City and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort during Pride Month included Adam Dupuis of Instinct; Chris Bull of Queerty; Juan Francisco Fortis and Noel Cruz Estrada of BoysMex; Mark Chesnut of TravelAge West and Passport; and Ryan Lecinski of Run with Ryan.
They enjoyed a magnificent welcome in Punta Mita—Mexico’s most exclusive beach community—where they relaxed, checked out the legendary St. Regis butler service, and pampered themselves at the luxurious Remède Spa with a bespoke Ayurvedic ritual and chakra balancing therapy. They also experienced the finest dining at the multi-award-winning Carolina restaurant (AAA Five Diamond) and, of course, enjoyed every moment steeped in luxury! They also visited some iconic places in the Riviera Nayarit, including San Pancho and Sayulita Pueblo Mágico.
Celebrity in Punta Mita
In June, the Riviera Nayarit also hosted Colton Underwood, a former NFL player who became famous on the dating show “The Bachelor.” Underwood, who played with several teams before his football career ended in 2016, recently came out publicly as gay. During his stay in this tourist destination, he engaged in exclusive activities for Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, where he had fun with a group of friends. He posted images on his Instagram account for his more than 2 million followers.
Safety and confidence
Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, indicated that the LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex) community worldwide represents one of the fastest-growing segments within the tourism industry, with a notable impact on the economy of destinations.
“The Riviera Nayarit has established itself as a viable destination for this sector, thanks to its inclusion efforts and tourism offerings—such as infrastructure, gastronomic variety, quality, and luxury—as part of its market diversification,” he said.
It is worth mentioning that the National Union of LGBT+ Tourism Entrepreneurs (UNET) recently named the Riviera Nayarit and Mexico City as premium destinations for this segment, ranking them in first and second place, respectively.
The Riviera Nayarit is a safe destination
As one of the first destinations to receive the Safe Travels Stamp developed by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the Riviera Nayarit is well-prepared to welcome all domestic and international travelers safely.
Our hotels, restaurants, and tourist establishments follow all the health protocols established by the Federal Government’s Ministry of Health and operate at the allowed capacities. Access to the beaches is limited. Be a responsible tourist: wear your mask and keep your distance.
WE’RE READY!
The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) work tirelessly to promote the region with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit through its Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
