Quarantine has gotten us good and ready to vacation in an idyllic location where we can sip on our favorite drink and savor a delicious snack while we watch the sunset… We’re just need to wait for the situation to ease up! That’s why we’re going to leave you with this list of five things you’re going to want to put on your checklist for when this is over and you’re able to travel to the Riviera Nayarit (we’re ready and waiting for you!)
Go for a swim in Punta de Mita.
We’re putting this activity first because we know how much you love the Riviera Nayarit’s beaches—there’s no doubt shoreline in Punta de Mita is incredibly beautiful. These beaches are perfect for swimming and enjoying with your family thanks to their calm waves, plus there are also great spots for surfing (if that’s your thing). We recommend visiting La Lancha, El Anclote, Carreyeros, or Litibú.
Eat in Bucerías
Many places are already opening up, but by the time you’re ready to travel they’ll all be open. All your favorite restaurants will have your favorite dish waiting for you: fish ceviche, oysters, shrimp kabobs, cocktails, vegan food, pescado zarandeado (grilled fish), aguachile (shrimp “cooked” in spicy lime juice), and more. Whatever you’re missing, you’ll be sure to get it when you return to the Riviera Nayarit.
One of our most famous micro-destinations on social media is Sayulita, which has everything you need to start having fun first thing in the morning. Enjoy local dishes for breakfast, head to the beach, browse the Mexican handicraft stores, and take a selfie in the street under the famous papel picado (cut paper) banners followed by a tasty ice pop made with natural fruit. Basically, you’ll never run out of things to do in Sayulita. We recommend a visit to Playa Los Muertos (super famous on our Instagram account).
