Riviera Nayarit takes its luxury offer on the road to the West Coast

  • This year’s joint promotional efforts with our northern neighbors come to a close with training seminars for over 100 travel and sales agents.

The Riviera Nayarit CVB visited two important US west coast cities—Seattle and Portland—to reinforce its tourism promotion with just a few days before the start of the winter season in this region of the Pacific.

These cities represent a very important market especially during the wintertime, when travelers seek sun and sand destinations that offer a complete experience. Because of its obvious advantages and increasing airlift, the Riviera Nayarit continues to gather market share as the destination of choice.

A committee of representatives from the Riviera Nayarit CVB and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust (Fidetur) conducted training seminars for travel agents in Seattle and Portland from November 12 through 14. The program began in Seattle’s Costco Travel Agency with a training session on the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta’s tourist offer for 36 sales agents, where the team highlighted the 15 new investments that are already in the works for the Riviera Nayarit.

The team held another Destination presentation there for 50 travel agents and wholesalers Classic Vacations, GoGo Worldwide Vacations, Pleasant Holidays, Travel Impressions, and Vacation Express.

The Promotional Tour continued on to Portland, Oregon, where the team met with 50 travel agents and representatives from the previously mentioned wholesalers.

Of note was the enthusiastic participation of the Riviera Nayarit associated hotels: Decameron, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Occidental Nuevo Vallarta, Paradise Village, Hoteles Riu, W Punta de Mita, The St. Regis Punta Mita, Villa del Palmar Flamingos, and Villa La Estancia. Their involvement was key to the success of the events.

Héctor Iván Godoy, consul general for Mexico in Seattle, and Beatriz Navarro, consul general for Mexico in Portland, were also present.

In this manner, the Riviera Nayarit CVB and Puerto Vallarta’s Fidetur continue to promote the region jointly in one of the destination’s historically strong natural markets.

MORE INFO:

Both Seattle and Portland are directly connected to the region via Alaska Airlines. Seattle also has offers flights with Delta Airlines during the Winter Season.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) work intensely to promote the destination with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit via its Tourism Promotional Trust (Fiprotur). The sports-related tourism offer in the region is a key asset for these promotional activities.
