- The Riviera Nayarit’s many virtues as a destination for weddings, honeymoons, and other events related to the Romance segment were on display during the business meeting.
The World Romance Travel Conference – Love Mexico was held in Cancun, Quintana Roo, from December 8 through 11 with the participation of more than 100 wedding planners from North and Central America and the Caribbean.
The program included special events, hotel visits, and destination presentations, among them the joint contribution of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust (Fidetur). Both destinations also held approximately 26 separate business meetings lasting 10 minutes each with at least 70 industry professionals.
The Riviera Nayarit’s many virtues as a destination for weddings, honeymoons, and other events related to the Romance segment were on display during the event as was its excellent hotel infrastructure and services, covering every detail of this important tourist niche.
Hotel chains with properties in the Riviera Nayarit such as AMResorts, Hard Rock, Iberostar, Occidental, Palladium, Riu, and Villagroup were there as well to promote their exclusive products.
Of note is the fact some of the wedding planners already had weddings organized in the destination for next year and had ample knowledge of its tourism offer.
“The participation of the Riviera Nayarit in the World Romance Travel Conference – Love Mexico is an important part of the work we do in the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) to position the destination within the luxury and romance segment,” said Jesús Carmona Jiménez, president of both entities.
Romance tourism is one of Mexico’s most consolidated segments, as well as being one of its top revenue generators thanks to the large number of visitors it attracts. According to date from the federal Ministry of Tourism, Mexico welcomes 23% of the world’s Romance niche travelers.
The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) continue to strengthen the promotion of the destination, helping to position it on the international map with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit via the Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
