The AHMBB Supports Professionalization of Hotel Staff
- Twenty-three staff members from 9 of the destination’s hotels received a Leadership Skills Development graduate certificate from the Vortice Leadership Academy.
After five intensive months of work, the Leadership Skills Development graduate certificate program offered by the Vortice Leadership Academy came to a close for 23 staff members from nine of the destination’s hotels. The training was held as part of the professionalization efforts sponsored by the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB).
The course lasted for 120 hours under the guidance of the Vortice Leadership Academy, which designed a special program to address strategic sectors of the industry—in this instance, safety—while developing security staff members’ talent and potential.
There were five parts to the program: Rational Leadership, Emotional Leadership, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Development of High Performance Teams, and Coaching for High Performance Teams.
Twenty-three staff members from Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, Paradise Village, Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Marival Group, Villagroup, Vallarta Gardens, Palladium and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita took part in the program.
The graduation ceremony and awarding of diplomas took place at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, where graduates were accompanied by supervisors and executives from the aforementioned hotels.

“One of the topics the Hotel Association has championed is training on every level to maintain high levels of competency in our departments, so we can improve our hotels and offer better service to our visitors,” said Jesús Carmona Jiménez, president of the AHMBB.
The Facts:
To date, the Department of Member Services and Tourism Development Programs has coordinated five graduate certificate programs for personnel from associated hotels, benefitting over 100 staff members and improving the quality of the service offered to tourists.
