5th Open Water Nado Seguro Competition And 1st Gran Fondo In The Riviera Nayarit
- The 5th Open Water Nado Seguro Competition will take place on April 25th with 5 and 3K races in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle with 700 participants; April 26th marks the start of the first Gran Fondo 150K/Medio Fondo 75K that will cruise though several coastal towns as well as the Sierra de Vallejo.
The 5th Open Water Nado Seguro Competition and the 1stGran Fondo 150K/Medio Fondo 75K to be held shortly in the Riviera Nayarit were announced via press conferences in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Tepic by their respective organizing committees.
These competitions are fully backed by the Groups and Events Department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau; the Banderas Bay City Council and the Government of the State of Nayarit are also fully supporting the events in terms of security, first aid and road management.
5th Open Water Nado Seguro 5-3K
The 5th year of this Open Water tournament saw registration grow to 700 participants, all of who will be competing in the waters of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle on April 25. The categories include Children, Juvenile, Master, Special Needs and Professional for both males and females.
Participants from Nayarit, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Guanajuato and other states of the Republic of Mexico will be swimming for the prize just beyond the Marina Riviera Nayarit. 1st Gran Fondo 150K/Medio Fondo75K
This road cycling competition will take place right on the heels of the Nado Seguro tournament, taking its 200 expected participants to the limit during this first edition to be held on April 26th.
An elite group will lead the race, which begins in Nuevo Vallarta continuing all the way to Sayulita, weaving past Bucerías the returning through Punta de Mita and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle followed by a final push up the mountains of Fortuna de Vallejo. The entire course will take riders through the Riviera Nayarit’s most beautiful natural scenery.
