Vallarta-Nayarit Trained 400 Travel Agents in Canada

  • WestJet announced an increase in its flight frequency from Vancouver and Calgary to the Vallarta-Nayarit International Airport beginning in October in order to prepare for the upcoming winter season.

The Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta convention and visitors bureaus participated in the WestJet Vacations Mexico Expo from August 25 – 28, 2014, in order to promote the Vallarta-Nayarit brand with an eye towards the upcoming winter season.

A total of 400 Canadian and international travel agents had appointments within the Trade Show format, during which they were updated with the most recent information from both destinations. The events took place Western Canada’s main cities: Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg.

Rodrigo Esponda, regional director for North America for the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB), commented that the presence of the Vallarta-Nayarit brand is growing stronger in the Canadian marketplace and assured the region generates the most number of visitors to Mexico.

WestJet Vacations Mexico Expo is one of the top promotional showcases for the Mexican tourism product and offered the perfect opportunity to train the attending agents.

Dreams Villamagna, Iberostar Playa Mita, Grand Velas, Grupo Marival, Occidental Grand and Palladium were among the participating hotel from the Riviera Nayarit.

The agents received updates on the region via a 10-minute one-on-one interview format, which was very well received. They now have new sales tools to use with their clients.

WestJet increases its airlift to the destination

WestJet will increase its airlift to the Vallarta-Nayarit International Airport beginning in October in order to prepare for the upcoming winter season.

There will be an extra flight leaving from Vancouver on Saturdays and Sundays, in addition to the daily flights that are already in place from Saturday to Thursday. Besides the daily flights already departing from Calgary all week there will be an additional two extra flights, one on Mondays and another on Thursdays.
