- Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta are ready to welcome the first flight from Amsterdam on November 7th
- The CVB will promote tours for Europeans along the coast of Nayarit
The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit is ready to receive the first group of Dutch tourists traveling in the opening Amsterdam-Puerto Vallarta flight, and has prepared a warm reception at the airport together with authorities of the neighboring state of Jalisco.
One of the main objectives planned by the CVB in 2011 is to diversify the origin of visitors coming to Riviera Nayarit, and the arrival of Dutch tourists will benefit all the people of Nayarit”, stated the President of the CVB of Riviera Nayarit, Fernando González Ortega.
“European tourists have an average stay of 15 days, which is ideal to promote activities that will allow them not only to enjoy Riviera Nayarit, from Nuevo Vallarta to San Blas or even further north in Novillero. They’ll also have the opportunity of visiting major cultural centers and traditional towns like Los Toriles, Jala, Aguamilpa, etc. This is a market segment that has other interests besides beach and sun, and this is why the CVB wants to bring them here”, said González Ortega.
The welcoming of the first group of tourists coming on this flight of Arkefly will take place jointly with Puerto Vallarta and will include mariachi music and gifts at the airport. Afterwards, on November 10th, Arkefly and the tour operator TUI Nederlands will return with an exclusive flight for travel agents and journalists, which will make an exploration tour that will allow them to personally experience the features of our destination, so that they can then eventually promote them in their home countries.
“We’re planning for journalists to tour San Blas, and to visit the northern area of Riviera Nayarit, so that they can write about the cultural, historic, and gastronomic wealth that can be found in our State. This will generate expectation for future Dutch tourists that want to explore these areas”, said the President of the CVB.
The CVB of Riviera Nayarit is a non-profit private association that works intensely to promote the entire coast of Nayarit, with the firm belief that tourism represents an important boost of the economy of all the People.
