Promotional Tour Trains Over 600 National Travel Agents

  • Four hundred travel agents received training in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City; during the visit to the capital city the team also trained 80 Magnicharters’ sales agents and another 200 more at the Interjet Call Center.

The Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta National Promotion Tour reached over 600 travel and sales agents during the first week of March, when it visited the three most important cities in Mexico: Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City.

These events were conducted along with 28 hotels from both destinations in order to bolster promotional efforts with an eye towards the upcoming vacations, which are key for the domestic market.

On March 3rd the team visited the Sultana del Norte (Monterrey), followed by the Perla Tapatía (Guadalajara) on the 4th and, last but not least, the capital city on the 5th and 6th of the month. The stay in Mexico City lasted two days, as they took advantage of their visit to train 80 sales agents at Magnicharters and another 200 at the Interjet Call Center.

“It’s important that we maintain a constant presence in the domestic market, which represents over 50% of our total visitors—especially taking into consideration the upcoming vacation days during Holy Week, Easter and summer,” commented Pamela Zepeda, Sales and Promotions Manager for the Riviera Nayarit CVB.

According to the survey conducted by the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), Guadalajara is the main destination of origin for visitors to the Riviera Nayarit at 25.8%, followed by Mexico City in third place with 9% and Monterrey in fifth place with 3.8%.

Each event on this Tour included the accustomed interactive promotional activities where the agents participated and competed against each other in different games. These events generate interest in different topics and are incentivized via points, which are then converted by the winners into complimentary stays at regional hotels.
